About Us

Finest Rock since 1987

SPELLBOUND was founded in 1987 by Aldo Milazzo, Arno Winter, Günter Weiß, Daniel Huth and Hans-Georg Tesch in Saarbrücken. The band's music was inspired by the hard rock scene of the time - but with an unmistakable style of its own that has prevailed to this day.

After numerous concerts in the Saarland scene, the band was soon regarded as an insider tip. With their own songs, the ambitious musicians were able to make a name for themselves in neighbouring France, and in 1992 they went to Spain for 4.5 months, which marked the beginning of their professional career. The impressions they gathered were musically processed in the first demo ‘Kiss the Road’. The title track ‘Bad times running’ quickly made it onto the radio and climbed into the Spanish charts on their second tour in 1993. Live performances by the band were even broadcast by Spanish television stations.

In 1994 they decided to conquer the Canary Islands, playing over 30 gigs and increasing their presence on Canarian radio stations. After just 5 months, the band returned to Germany and produced their first longplayer ‘Soul, Peace and Freedom’ in 1995, which still has cult status today.  In Germany, the boys attracted attention in 1996 and 1998 by winning the qualification for the Bundesrockfestival, where they represented the Saarland.

In 1997, the band produced the maxi-album ‘Passion and Pain’, for the first time in collaboration with their new keyboard player Rüdiger Forse, who from then on was responsible for the orchestral arrangements of the songs and accompanied the band on their Mallorca tour in 1998. In the meantime, SPELLBOUND's albums have been marketed worldwide and the band still has fans from Japan to South America. In 2001, another longplayer ‘Strange Land’ was produced, which enjoyed complete critical acclaim, but never made it to the stage: the band was caught up in their private and professional lives, and the musicians went their separate ways shortly after its release.

Bring finest rock back on stage!

After 20 years, SPELLBOUND is celebrating its long-awaited comeback with two new members: Jan Rinderspacher on bass and Michael Kohr on drums. The setlist includes cult songs from the last 30 years, which have been refined with a fresh spirit, as well as newly composed works that combine current chart pop with classic rock elements and orchestral arrangements.

With the video ‘Empire of Joy’ and its epic soundtrack, SPELLBOUND was able to achieve worldwide interest in the social media and attract attention within a very short time. The remastered album ‘Soul, Peace and Freedom’ was already album hit of the week and was played in full length on Classic Rock Radio. The catchy hit single ‘Freedom Calling’ also quickly made it into the media and gained many fans in Ukraine, which inspired SPELLBOUND to produce a video with Ukrainian subtitles.

In 2023 SPELLBOUND released a best-of album with all hits from 1995 to 2015.
